I just like the idea of the Z1000 inline 4; it’s carved out a gap as a lively punchy bare roadster. It has fantastic overall performance coupled with sportsbike-like handling, specifically whilst equipped with appropriate tyres. The best mild bad is the styling. I could have preferred a contemporary interpretation of the unique Z1 styling, just like what Honda has performed with the styling of the CB1100. Bruce Dunn, MCN overall performance tester
Good robust engine with great managing way it appears like a brilliant all-spherical, ordinary motorcycle. On the drawback it feels find it irresistible’s revving a bit excessive while cruising at speedy motorway speeds, and the absence of a gear indicator appears a bit strange. Why are the respectable panniers wider than the handlebars and mirrors? It makes no experience to me. Liam Marsden, MCN web manufacturer
The Kawasaki SX is one of those brilliantly flexible machines. Usually, words like ‘do-it-all’ get thrown in with bland tourers. But that’s now not the case with the SX, it’s a touring machine with a proper kick. It’s an easy and secure ride on my 100-mile trip, the panniers combine well into the design, it looks clever and in case you need to get a pass on it gained’t disappoint. Having ridden a primary Z1000 for per week and enjoyed it, I changed into very fascinated to strive the SX version. My first affect was now not proper due to extraordinarily worn tyres, however this became quick rectified with fresh rubber. With confidence boosted I may want to start to experience the SX and at this factor begin to shape my critiques of it. I experience the gearing is simply too low, you’re constantly fishing for another tools - any other tooth at the front sprocket may want to do the trick. I’m 6ft 1in and, at pace, tucking out of the wind was nearly impossible as there was no space to head. Gear it up, stretch it out and it'd make a higher bike for me. Simon Relph, MCN artwork editor
