This is what he’s got to say: "It’s been 21 years since Triumph re-launched at Hinckley with their first new model, the original 1200 Trophy and now they are back with an all new version which clearly demonstrates just how far new Triumph has come.
"It surprisingly reminds most of the Ducati Multistrada, not for what it does and is but for what it represents.
"In other words not only has the new Trophy got bags of gizmos ranging from electronic suspension, sophisticated traction control and braking systems plus comprehensive instrumentation and luggage, underneath all that the basic engine and chassis is hugely impressive in its own right.
"Three things impress, the first is the slightly detuned 1215cc three cylinder shaft-drive engine, which is both effortlessly smooth and grunty, it's also invigorating and exciting when you want to open it up.
"Secondly despite being a bit of a big old bus, as these bikes usually are, the Trophy is surprisingly nimble and agile.
"Finally it’s got all the touring goodies you can think of, effective adjustable screen, comfortable riding position including adjustable seat, plus better than most luggage and touring extras."
